“Life-Size AI Companion Doll” Emerges at CES — Lovense Blurs the Line Between Technology and Intimacy.

It may feel as though the Life-Size movies are edging closer to reality. Singapore-based pleasure-tech firm Lovense has unveiled its first physical AI companion doll, a product that marries advanced artificial intelligence with a lifelike humanoid form in a way that goes far beyond traditional smart devices. The announcement, made at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, signals a pivotal moment in how embodied AI is conceived, marketed and potentially experienced.

Dubbed the Lovense AI Doll, and showcased under the name Emily, this prototype is described by the company as a fully integrated extension of its existing ecosystem of connected pleasure products. Lovense , best known for its app-controlled adult toys and software ,says that the AI companion is powered by a proprietary artificial intelligence engine capable of “human-like cognition, emotional awareness and expressive behaviour”. The implication is not merely a reactive gadget or a static figure, but a system that can learn, remember and adapt to individual users over time, effectively allowing relationships that evolve and deepen with continued interaction.

Unlike previous AI companions that exist solely on screens or as voice assistants, the Lovense AI Doll combines a physical form with intelligent software. The exterior is designed to be highly realistic and expressive, featuring subtle facial movements, micro-expressions and a silicone body with a posable internal skeleton. Built-in Bluetooth connectivity enables seamless integration with the wider Lovense ecosystem, meaning the doll can interpret natural voice commands, interact with users directly and even control compatible smart toys and devices within that network in real time.

The company has built the experience around customisation and personalisation. Users can change Emily’s personality through a companion app, choosing from multiple personality and roleplay modes, and tailor the interaction style to suit their preferences. The AI Companion feature within the Lovense Remote App also allows users to message the doll remotely and receive AI-generated selfies that mirror her real-world appearance, helping foster a continuous sense of connection whether at home or on the go. According to Lovense, this continuous digital-to-physical thread enhances the perception of continuity, intimacy and emotional bonding.

In public demonstrations at CES, Lovense framed Emily not simply as an adult product but as part of a broader vision for AI companionship, positioning her as an emotional support and connection tool that might address loneliness or provide a non-judgemental partner for conversation and interaction. The company emphasises emotional wellness and the capacity for the system to “understand” and respond to users in nuanced ways, rather than focusing solely on physical or sexual functionality.

While Lovense has signalled that pre-orders are available and that the full release of the AI companion doll is expected in coming years , with shipment timelines extending into 2027 , specific pricing details have varied across reports, with early estimates suggesting a premium price point in line with the advanced hardware and AI capabilities involved.

The unveiling of the Lovense AI companion doll highlights a broader trend in consumer technology where AI moves beyond screens and traditional interfaces, entering the physical spaces of personal and intimate life. Whether one views this evolution with curiosity, excitement, scepticism or concern, it represents a significant step in how artificial intelligence might increasingly be woven into interpersonal and emotional domains.
