Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Leak Reveals Familiar Battery and Key Specs Ahead of Launch

New leaks about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra suggest the flagship phone will retain a 5,000 mAh battery instead of upgrading to cutting-edge silicon-carbon cells, according to reports ahead of its expected launch in early 2026.

That means the Ultra model may stick with the same battery capacity as its predecessor, despite rising expectations that Samsung would move into next-generation battery technology. The information, sourced from a specification leak, also points to additional details around the device’s design and capabilities.

While Samsung has not yet confirmed official specifications, other leaks and insider reports suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will launch at a Galaxy Unpacked event in late February, most likely on 25 February 2026, with pre-orders following soon after.

Rumoured features beyond the battery include a large 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display, a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and support for fast charging speeds of around 60 W — a notable improvement over previous models. Camera upgrades are expected too, potentially featuring high-resolution sensors and refined optical systems designed to appeal to photography-focused buyers.

The S26 Ultra may also introduce a new privacy-friendly display technology, which limits what can be seen from side angles, a feature aimed at users who frequently use their phones in public spaces.

Despite the incremental nature of the battery update, the Galaxy S26 Ultra leak builds on earlier rumours that Samsung will keep many of the core strengths of its flagship series while fine-tuning performance, screen technology and charging. Analysts suggest this approach reflects a strategy focused on reliability and refinement rather than radical change.

As the expected February unveiling draws closer, more details are likely to emerge about one of 2026’s most anticipated smartphone launches.
