Cisco and Sharon AI have partnered to launch what they describe as Australia’s first secure artificial intelligence factory, developed in collaboration with Nvidia.
The facility is designed to provide enterprise grade infrastructure for building, training and deploying artificial intelligence models within a highly secure environment. It will combine Cisco’s networking and security capabilities with Nvidia’s advanced AI hardware and Sharon AI’s local expertise.
The initiative aims to address growing demand for sovereign AI infrastructure in Australia, where organisations increasingly require domestic data processing that complies with national regulations. By offering secure, high performance computing resources within the country, the project seeks to reduce reliance on overseas data centres.
According to the companies involved, the AI factory will support industries such as healthcare, financial services, mining and government. The platform is intended to accelerate the development of large language models and other advanced AI applications while maintaining strict security standards.
