Apple Tests Multiple Smart Glasses Designs Ahead of Launch

Apple is reportedly testing several designs for its upcoming smart glasses, signalling a major step into wearable AI technology.

The company is currently exploring four different frame styles, including rectangular and circular designs in both larger and slimmer versions. The variations suggest Apple is still deciding how the product should look and feel before finalising its first release.

Unlike more advanced mixed reality devices, the glasses are expected to focus on everyday functionality rather than immersive displays. Reports suggest they will not include built-in screens, but instead offer features such as taking photos, recording video, making calls, playing music, and interacting with Siri.

The approach places the product closer to existing smart glasses on the market, prioritising simplicity and usability over complex augmented reality features. Apple is also experimenting with different colours and materials, indicating a strong emphasis on design and personal style.

The device is expected to launch around 2027, with a possible preview earlier, as Apple continues to refine its strategy in the growing wearable technology market.

The move reflects increasing competition in AI-powered devices, as major tech companies explore new ways to integrate technology into everyday life. For Apple, the challenge will be balancing functionality, design, and user adoption in a category that is still evolving.
