Samsung to Integrate Google Photos into AI TV Lineup, Bringing Personal Memories to the Big Screen

Samsung Electronics has announced a partnership with Google to bring Google Photos features to its smart TVs starting in 2026, allowing users to view and relive personal photos and videos on a larger, more immersive display.

The integration aims to transform the living room TV into a cinematic gallery for cherished memories, from family holidays and hobbies to everyday moments with loved ones. Families will be able to rediscover and share these photos together in stunning detail.

“Samsung TVs have always brought people together, and bringing Google Photos to the big screen makes that experience even more personal,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at the Visual Display Business of Samsung Electronics. “Through this partnership, we help users rediscover and relive cherished moments by bringing to light the stories behind their photos — right from the comfort of their living room.”

A Seamless and Meaningful Photo Experience

Google Photos already simplifies organising and sharing memories on mobile devices. With this integration, photos captured on phones will seamlessly appear on Samsung TVs in a high-quality, cinematic format.

Users will be able to explore curated memories organised by people, places, and significant moments. The features will also integrate with Samsung’s Vision AI Companion (VAC), a conversational AI platform that enhances daily interactions on the TV.

Google Photos will be woven into the TV interface, with memories surfacing naturally via Daily+ (a hub for lifestyle services) and Daily Board (an ambient mode displaying useful information like weather, notes, and SmartThings device status when the TV is idle).

Setup is designed to be straightforward: users simply sign in with their Google Account, and backed-up photos and videos will automatically become accessible on the big screen.

Three Key Features for Reliving Memories

The rollout will occur in phases throughout 2026:

  • Memories (planned for early 2026, expected in March): Curated stories based on people, locations, and meaningful moments will appear on TV for the first time. This will launch exclusively on Samsung TVs for six months.
  • Create with AI (planned for later in 2026): Powered by Nano Banana, Google DeepMind’s advanced image generation and editing model, this introduces themed templates for playful transformations. Users can apply artistic styles with Remix or turn still photos into short videos using Photo to Video. Some templates will be exclusive to Samsung TVs.
  • Personalised Results (planned for later in 2026): View tailored slideshows of related photos based on topics or memory themes, such as “ocean”, “hiking”, or “Paris”.

The integration will be available on Samsung TV models launching in 2026, with a Google Account and backed-up content required. Select existing models will receive the features via software updates, depending on the OS rollout schedule. Availability may vary by region and model.

“Google Photos is a home for people’s photos and videos, helping them organise and bring their memories to life,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President, Google Photos and Google One. “We’re excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs — helping people enjoy their favourite photos on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways.”

This partnership marks the first native Google Photos experience on a major TV platform beyond limited casting options, positioning Samsung TVs as a central hub for personal media in the home.
